Over the course of the week, Dickov will be working closely with the group of 32 talented players, selected by programme partners Football Association of Singapore (FAS). He will be sharing personal insights and experiences on what it takes to become a professional athlete and giving the players helpful tips during the programme. While in Singapore, Paul will also meet members of Manchester City Supporters Club.
A Scottish international team striker, Paul Dickov’s football career spanned 21 years from 1990 to 2011, including more than six seasons with Manchester City between 1996 – 2002, and then again from 2006 – 2008.
The programme will take elements of the City Football Schools curriculum – the City Play model – and provide a fun and challenging training experience. The program is based on how Manchester City’s players, from the Academy to the First Team, train and play on a daily basis, using examples of key players from the Club to bring the techniques and skills to life.
As well as selecting the participants and organising other activities for the Programme such as sports health theory sessions, the FAS will be facilitating a ‘Coach the Coaches’ for local Singapore youth coaches to learn from the Manchester City duo.
